Vtg l950's Wool Black/White Houndstooth Coat TankSkirt SET Suit Women's Sz S

  

Stunning black and white l950's vintage wool houndstooth coat with matching tank and skirt. The tags have been taken out of the set, but we have a suit almost exactly like it in another color that was bought at Hahne & Co in Newark in the 1950's by my aunt, who passed away at 99 years old, and we're sure this one was also. We have no idea what the brand was.

The fully lined coat has two front pockets and 3/4 length sleeves. I'm sure my aunt wore the coat with black leather gloves! Closes with 4 buttons and is double breasted. Two nice sized front pockets. The tank zippers in the back and is fully lined.

We think it would fit a size small. The skirt zippers at the side and is half lined in the front. We notice stains under the armpit area on the lining of the tank and some discoloration/soiling around the edges of the lining on tank. Please see last two pictures as an example. We did NOT dry clean the set.

NOTE: We took some pictures of the suit with the tank top turned around with the zipper in the front, but the zipper is supposed to be in the back. We also have a red wool boucle set in the same style, but the coat is larger. Both of these sets are just beautiful! Coat would probably fit a size small, perhaps small medium. Shoulder seam to seam approx l5 across. Length from top of shoulder to hem approx 41. TankWould probably fit a size Small.

Armpit to armpit approx l8 Laying Flat. SkirtWould probably fit a size small since the waist it 25. Hip l9 from side to side.
